We had a chat with Chris about her business Byron Paws
Why did you start your business?
I started Byron Paws to combine my love for dogs and the environment.
I wanted to create grooming products, dog owners could use without having to worry about harmful ingredients or how gentle they were on their pooch. Living in Byron Bay, preserving the ocean and the nature around us is so important to me. It’s a goal of mine for our products to have the most eco-friendly packaging possible and don’t impact the planet negatively.
How long ago, and how?
Byron Paws was originally my dog walking business here in Byron Bay, which I started 2 years ago. 6 months ago it evolved into what it is now!
What do you sell?
Right now we have our 5 products: 2 shampoo bars, nose & paw balm , hemp seed oil supplement and lick mat . We also have 3 bundles with our different products. We are growing though, so watch this space.
Being a dog mum, I’m always looking for the best natural and healthy options out there. I want to create natural and eco-friendly versions of dog’s necessities.
Where do you sell?
Our main point of sale is our online store. We are also available at Dogue online store and Fur Baby Bakery . You can find us in store at Baz and Shaz in Byron Bay.
Tell me about your own dogs - and are they involved in the business?
Cosmos is a 6 month old Kelpie x Cattle dog. He’s my shadow, is super clever and loves cuddling. He is my inspiration and an amazing Byron Paws model!
What's the best thing about what you do?
Receiving reviews and messages from customers telling me how happy they are with their products is so gratifying. Knowing that Byron Paws has made a small difference in someone’s life is everything to me.
What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
I sing made up songs to my dog every day so probably one of those, haha! Good he can’t talk back and tell me how crazy I am…
What's the most recent photo on your phone?
A picture of my dog asleep tucked in my bed. I’m obsessed!
